If you are like me, you really love colors. I love all the colors of the rainbow, and I especially love when they are used creatively! Everyone also loves Photography, I don’t care who you are, you enjoy a good picture when you see it. So when you take Colors and Photography and add them together, you get Color Photography! One of the MOST WINNINGEST forms of Photography if you ask me. <\/p>\n

What Is Color Photography?<\/h2>\n

Well get your learn on, lets take a dive into the wiki and see exactly what Color Photography was, isn’t and currently is.<\/p>\n

Color photography<\/a> is photography that uses media capable of representing colors, which are traditionally produced chemically during the photographic processing phase. By contrast, black-and-white (monochrome) photography records only a single channel of luminance (brightness) and uses media capable only of showing shades of gray.<\/p>\n

In color photography, light-sensitive chemicals or electronic sensors record color information at the time of exposure. This is usually done by analyzing the spectrum of colors into three channels of information, one dominated by red, another by green and the third by blue, in imitation of the way the normal human eye senses color. The recorded information is then used to reproduce the original colors by mixing together various proportions of red, green and blue light (RGB color, used by video displays, digital projectors and some historical photographic processes), or by using dyes or pigments to remove various proportions of the red, green and blue which are present in white light (CMY color, used for prints on paper and transparencies on film).<\/p>\n

Monochrome images which have been “colorized” by tinting selected areas by hand or mechanically or with the aid of a computer are “colored photographs,” not “color photographs.” Their colors are not dependent on the actual colors of the objects photographed and may be very inaccurate or completely imaginary.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is so much information on the topic we could go on for days talking about it. Did you know that Color photography has been around since the 1840s? I did not know this. That is very old lol. Today we showcase some of the most brilliant, vibrant, simple, minimal, abstract, and basically AWESOME Color Photography. The subjects range from scenery, the sky, to urban architecture. Some of the architecture and structures are stunning as well. Also some of these photographs and buildings look very retro in the colors and architectures, so there is a nostalgic value to these as well, fellow creative Geeks!
